This was a required purchase for one of my classes at Liberty University.  I really appreciate Carson’s thorough approach as he goes through the Gospel of John verse by verse.  It really is going to be one of my regular references as dig into the fourth Gospel.

Recently I wrote “Seven signs that Jesus is the Messiah” and in it I relied heavily on Carson’s analysis.  I especially enjoyed his analysis of Jesus’ cleansing of the temple.  Growing up in the Pacific Northwest I could visualize Jesus going through the livestock pens of the Pendleton roundup.  Of course Jesus was in the Court of the Gentiles but Carson just brought it alive as I connected his analysis to my own experiences.  Carson’s work is a must have in any theological library professional or armature.
